My timer hack for punchlines keeps landing flat
I noticed folks in this group treat delivery like it's a race, rushing the setup to get to the pun. Last Tuesday I timed my winning joke at 7 seconds from start to stop, but the one I lost with dragged to 14 and the room went cold. Try cutting every third word out of your setup and see if the punchline hits harder. Anyone else track their timing between the setup and the reveal?

Timing being everything is such a real thing everywhere, like when a friend waits just a beat too long to say "just kidding" and it goes from funny to awkward fast. Same deal with your joke setup, 14 seconds is basically a TED talk before the punchline lands. Cut the fat and let it rip.
