SMS codes versus authenticator apps, which one is actually worth the hassle
Back in 2019 I used to skip 2FA everywhere, even my email, because the extra 20 seconds drove me nuts. Then someone got into my PayPal and drained about $300 before I even got the alert, that was in Tacoma and it took 3 weeks to sort out with the bank. Now I use an authenticator app for everything that offers it, but I still see people arguing that SMS codes are just as good or that 2FA is for paranoid people. Which side are you on, do you think the convenience trade-off is worth it or have you had a close call that changed your stance too?

Man, my memory's so bad I lock myself out of my own accounts now. Totally worth it though!
