Paid $180 for a backup battery and it caught my house fire on camera

That UPS I bought last month kept my router alive during the outage, but the smart plug on it sent me a weird voltage alert at 2am so I checked the app and saw flames starting near the garage. Has anyone else had power gear actually warn them before something bad, or am I just lucky?
