Locked myself out of my own router 11 times last month, is that a record or a lesson?
So I decided to lock down my home network after reading about all those bot attacks on default passwords. I changed the admin login, set up a long passphrase, and enabled two factor on everything I could. But here is the thing, I locked myself out 11 times in 30 days because I kept forgetting the new passphrase and the backup codes were in a drawer I never check. Part of me thinks this proves strong unique passwords are worth the pain, but another part wonders if a password manager with one really good master key is the smarter move. Where do you all land on this, do you memorize your router logins or just let the manager handle it?
