The reverse-outline trick that fixed my plot holes
After 2 months stuck on chapter 7 of my novel, I tried something weird. I wrote the ending first, then listed every scene backwards on index cards. Found 3 plot holes in 20 minutes that I'd missed for weeks. The key was writing each card as a question, not a statement. Has anyone else tried backwards outlining, or am I the only one who works this way?
