I spent 3 years hating writing prompts with word counts attached
Every prompt that said 'exactly 100 words' or 'under 50 words' felt like a cage, I'd skip them every time. Then last Tuesday I tried one that required a 6 word story about a lighthouse keeper, just to prove it was dumb. But the limit forced me to cut every spare word, and the ending hit way harder than my usual rambling drafts. I still won't touch the 100 word stuff, but short limits now feel like a fun puzzle instead of a punishment. Anyone else flip on a constraint they used to avoid, or am I the weird one here?
