The customer who returned a half-eaten sandwich because the bread was 'too round'

Worked the deli counter at a grocery store in Tulsa for 4 years. One guy comes back with a turkey club he'd eaten down to the crust and says the bread was too round, so it made his sandwich 'feel like a boat.' Manager gave him a refund and a new sandwich on square bread. He ate that one too, then asked if we had any with corners. Has anyone else had a return reason that made zero sense but you just had to accept it anyway?

Oh for real, the boat thing is wild. But honestly maybe he was onto something, round bread makes everything slide around weirdly. Like, why are we even calling it bread if it's shaped like a frisbee with deli meat? That's a whole philosophical crisis right there.

Saw a news piece once about a guy who tried to return a burger because the sesame seeds looked like they were "arranged to spell his ex's name." The cashier just stared at him for a solid minute before voiding the transaction. Sometimes folks are working through something personal, and we're just the ones standing behind the counter when it comes out. Your boat guy probably just needed the win.
