A mom at the grocery store checkout taught me a whole new thing about patience

I was behind this woman, Linda, with a full cart and her kid kept trying to scan a box of cereal over and over. Instead of getting mad, she just said, 'Okay, you have three tries to get the beep, then it's my turn.' It hit me that sometimes the crazy part isn't the customer, it's how we choose to handle the situation (or don't). Anyone else have a moment where a customer's calm reaction to chaos actually taught you something?

Ever see a guy calmly explain to his kid why the ice cream had to go back? My friend watched that and said it changed how she talks to her own kids in stores.

Wait, he actually got the kid to put it back without a meltdown? How is that even possible?

Was it actually ice cream? I thought the story was about a toy from the checkout lane.
