Cold weather gremlin wrecked my load chart yesterday in Gary

Last Tuesday I was running a 100 ton in Gary, Indiana and the load chart on my tablet kept freezing up. Had to switch to the paper chart in the cab, which I haven't touched in maybe 3 years. Found out the new software update doesn't play nice with temps below 20 degrees. My foreman just laughed and said "welcome back to 1998." Anyone else running into electronics acting up on site when it gets cold? How do you handle it if you don't have a paper backup?

Man that sucks, especially in Gary in January. I feel your pain though, we had the same thing happen with our excavator display last winter. Screen just went black at 15 degrees and stayed that way till noon. Now I keep a cheapo phone in my bag with the charts saved as photos, plus the paper ones stay in the glove box year round. Your foreman sounds like a real comedian but honestly he's not wrong, sometimes the old stuff just works.
