The $40 feather razor that made me quit my favorite thinning shears

Three years ago in Portland I swore by my expensive thinning shears for every bob and lob. Last month a client in her 60s asked me to try her $40 feather razor instead, and I laughed at first. But watching her explain how it removes weight without those harsh lines, I tested it on a mannequin head after my shift. That single test cut my blending time from 20 minutes to 7, and the texture was way softer than anything my shears ever did. Now I only use shears for blunt work, and I feel silly about the $300 I spent on my old pair. Has anyone else switched tools and felt like they wasted years on the expensive route?

20 minutes to 7? That's insane, you serious?
