Question about how trim work got so fast on my buddy's crew in Tucson
Watched my buddy's crew finish a whole house of baseboards and casing in Tucson last week in about 2 days, when the same size job took his dad nearly 5 back in 2015. The big shift was they quit hand mitering every outside corner and now cope almost everything, plus they run a small jobsite fan to keep the glue from setting up too fast. I still cut outside corners by hand out of habit, and honestly his joints look cleaner than mine. Any of you switched fully to coping or do you still miter your outsides?
I read on a trim forum that coping outsides is actually a thing in some markets now, cuts the gap tight enough that caulk does the rest. My old boss back in Ohio would've lost his mind hearing that.
