PSA: Swapped from hand-nailing baseboards to using a 16-gauge finish nailer last spring on a job in Tulsa, and it cut my install time from 4 hours to just over 1 per room.

I used to spend half the day setting nails and filling holes by hand, but after a buddy in the trades showed me how the gun adjusts for different angles on door casings, I finally gave in and bought one for $120 at the supply house. Anyone else make the switch and find their wrist stopped hurting after?

Wait, you were hand-nailing baseboards before last spring? For real? I mean, I get being old school but that's a whole lot of pounding and cussing for one room. My wrist started aching just reading that part about the 4 hours. I switched to a finish nailer years ago and my thumb still thanks me every time I think about those days with a hammer and a nail set.

Haha yeah, "pounding and cussing" about sums up my entire approach to trim work before I saw the light. My wrist is definitely still sending me passive aggressive thank-you notes for finally retiring that hammer.
