Chose the cordless impact over the air hose for a 3-day deck job, no regrets
Had to pick between lugging my compressor around or dropping cash on a new Milwaukee cordless impact. Went with the battery version since the job site was a tight backyard in Boise with no easy power hookup. Ran three days straight on two 5.0 batteries, swapping them out during lunch. Saved me at least an hour of setup and break down each day, and my back thanks me. Anyone else made the switch and never looked back?

Buddy of mine did the same thing on a fence repair last summer. Hauled his old compressor out of the shed, fired it up, and the damn thing died twenty minutes in. He was stuck with half a fence and a trip to the hardware store for a cordless rig. Now he won't touch the air tools unless he's doing bigger trim work in his own shop. Says the batteries just feel better for quick moves around a yard. That hour he lost setting up and breaking down was the real kicker. I think he secretly keeps the compressor around just for the garage cred.
