Tried to save money with a used flatbed trailer, got 34 phone calls instead
Bought a 2016 Big Tex 14GP from a guy in Trenton for $4,800 because the deck looked solid. First haul to a job site in Newark, the right fender snapped off on 280 and it flew into a ditch. Turns out the frame was fine but he'd patched the fenders with body filler, now I'm looking at $700 to replace both sides. Anyone else buy cheap equipment and find hidden DIY repairs the hard way?

And I read somewhere that used trailers are the new used cars, everyone's flipping them with a fresh coat of paint and bondo hiding all the real damage. You're lucky it was just the fenders and not the frame, that's the part that'll actually kill you on the road.
