TIL the moon landing hoax theory took me a full weekend to really pick apart
I used to think the whole 'we never went to the moon' thing had some legs, mostly because of the flag waving and the weird shadows in photos. Then last weekend, my buddy who works at the planetarium in Tucson bet me a case of beer I couldn't find a single piece of proof that wasn't already debunked. I spent about 12 hours total digging through old NASA tech docs and watching interviews with the guys who actually built the lunar modules. The thing that finally got me was the laser reflectors they left up there. You can literally bounce a laser off them from Earth right now to measure the distance. No way to fake that in 1969. It was a wild rabbit hole, but I came out the other side. What's a conspiracy you changed your mind about after looking into it?

That's a solid one to get sorted. The laser reflector point is pretty much the nail in the coffin for that whole theory.

Yeah, that laser reflector fact got me too. Used to go back and forth on it until @mila_harris mentioned that point. Pretty hard to argue with now, right?

Yeah, that point really does shut down the argument.
