Three days in a row last week everything went right and it creeped me out

Tuesday my car started on the first try even in 20 degree weather. Wednesday I found a $20 bill in a parking lot at the Target off 42nd Street. Thursday I got the last parking spot in a full lot downtown. I started wondering if something big was about to go wrong to balance it out. Anybody else get suspicious when a streak of good luck hits like that?

...and then Thursday night I was walking home from the bus stop and a black cat crossed my path, then another one, and I swear it was the same cat just circling back. I stood there for five minutes like, is this the universe telling me the streak is over now? It reminds me of that time I found a dollar and then got a flat tire the same afternoon, but honestly the parking spot thing would spook me too.

Is that cat just following you around on purpose, like it knows you're the one who always spills milk on the sidewalk or something? I once got chased by a squirrel for a block because I accidentally threw a granola bar wrapper at it, and I'm still not sure if that was good luck or bad. Now every time I see a squirrel I cross the street just in case, so I get the whole "is this a sign" thing.

Cats are just creatures of habit, they'll follow anyone who looks like they might be a soft touch for a snack or a scratch behind the ears. The whole black cat crossing your path thing is just old superstition with no real weight, same as the squirrel thing is just an animal being confused by a wrapper. Those parking spots and milk spills are random chance, not a streak the universe is keeping track of.
