Picked the 24 hour surveillance cam over the $30 audio recorder, joke's on me
So I moved into a new place in Akron last month and noticed my landlord's maintenance guy kept showing up at odd times with no notice. I had two options, drop $120 on a camera setup or grab a cheap audio recorder for $30. I went with the camera because I wanted proof of faces, right. Turns out the guy was just coming by to feed a stray cat under the porch, caught it on video at 3am. Now I've got 40 hours of footage of a tabby and zero evidence of anything shady. Has anyone else wasted money on the wrong surveillance gear for a case that was way less fun than you hoped?

Used to figure cameras always beat audio, but a $30 recorder woulda saved you cash here.
