Guy at a Denver diner swore the moon landing was faked, but his reason caught me off guard
Sat next to a retired machinist at a diner off Colfax in Denver a few weeks back and the moon landing came up. He told me he worked on aerospace parts in the 60s and said the giveaway was that the flag waved, which I already knew about. But then he pulls out his phone and shows me a photo of a vacuum chamber test he says he witnessed, claiming the flag moved the same way with no air. I never looked into whether that test photo was real or where it came from. Has anyone here actually dug into the vacuum chamber angle, or is that just a recycled talking point?
Checked into that vacuum chamber claim once and it falls apart fast. NASA did run flag tests in vacuum chambers, but they used a horizontal rod to hold the flag out since there's no air to make it hang. The "waving" in the moon photos is just the flag wrinkling from being packed tight and the astronauts bumping the pole. The machinist photo might be real but it wouldn't show what he claims, a flag in a vacuum with no rod would just droop straight down.
