Showerthought: I just read that a single cubic yard of concrete weighs about 4,000 pounds.

I was looking up specs for a driveway job in Tacoma and that number really hit me. It makes sense when you're moving it, but seeing it written down was a shock. How do you guys mentally prepare for the sheer weight you're working with every day?

Actually, a cubic yard of concrete is closer to 4,000 pounds when it's wet, but it's about 3,900 when cured.

Makes sense, water weight evaporates out.
