I picked a cheap rebar cutter over a rental and paid the price

Last month on a driveway job in Toledo, I had to choose between renting a real electric rebar cutter for $80 a day or buying a $40 manual one from Harbor Freight. Figured I'd save the money and deal with the hand cramps. Cut about 50 pieces of #4 rebar before my arm gave out and I had to drive 20 minutes to grab the rental anyway. Has anyone else learned this lesson the hard way or am I just stubborn?

Stubborn is right, 50 cuts with a manual cutter is basically a workout you didn't sign up for.

Went through a batch of 200 for a project last week and my right arm felt like it was made of SPAGHETTI afterwards. Actually had to switch hands halfway through and the cuts came out looking like a toddler did them with safety scissors. My girlfriend walked in on me massaging my forearm and asked if I pulled a muscle at the gym. Told her no, I just lost a fight with a stack of paper.
