Guy on my crew bet me $50 I couldn't skip the jitterbug on a 20x20 slab, so I tried it
Lost the bet but learned something. On a 20x20 pad in Fresno last month I screed it flat, then went straight to a wood float without the jitterbug, and the finish came out tighter than my usual routine. Anyone else skipping that step on smaller flatwork or am I just getting lucky?
Does skipping one step on a small pad really prove anything? A 20x20 in Fresno heat could just as easy have been a lucky mix or a good day for the mud. I'd want to see it work a few more times before calling that a real change to how you finish.
