Showerthought: I cleaned a gaming PC with a paintbrush and it worked better than my usual method.

Had a client bring in a system so clogged with dust it looked like a pet. My compressed air can was empty, so I grabbed a clean, soft paintbrush from my car. I gently brushed the heatsink and fans, and the dust came off in big clumps without flying everywhere. It was quieter and I didn't have to worry about spinning the fans too fast. Has anyone else used a weird tool that actually worked out okay?

Just be careful with static, a paintbrush can build up a charge. I use an anti-static brush for that exact reason.

Ever try a makeup brush? Softer than @johnson.paul's static one.

Oh wow, did you hear about my friend Sarah's keyboard disaster? She tried using a fluffy makeup brush to clean her PC and it zapped her motherboard! She said the static shock was so loud it made her jump. Now she's super careful about what she uses, and honestly Paul's warning makes total sense after that. I guess the softness doesn't matter if it's holding a charge ready to fry something.
