PSA: Stop installing SSDs without checking TRIM in Windows first
Last month I picked up a client's Dell laptop in Portland that had been running like molasses for 6 months after a shop swapped in a Samsung 870 EVO, and I found TRIM disabled in the registry with a 90% full drive. I turned it back on, ran a manual trim pass, and the thing booted in 14 seconds flat. How many of you are actually verifying TRIM and not just cloning drives and calling it done?
