Five months of chasing a phantom voltage drop before a guy at the shop on 8th pointed at my meter leads
I kept getting a 0.4 volt drop on a car that cranked slow, and I threw a battery, an alternator, and two ground straps at it over five months. A guy at the shop on 8th grabbed my meter and asked when I last checked the leads themselves, and sure enough mine read 0.3 volts with nothing hooked up. I had been trusting a tool that was lying to me the whole time, on every diag I ran that year. Bought a $40 set the same day and the car fixed itself in ten minutes. Anyone else got a tool they hung onto way too long before the truth came out?
