A client in Dallas told me to just 'make it work' after I found a melted power supply cable.
I explained the fire risk, but they said they'd sign a waiver, so I refused the job and now I'm wondering how other techs handle clients who ignore clear safety warnings.

That waiver wouldn't hold up in court if their house burned down. Do you have a written policy you show clients when you refuse work on safety grounds?

Used to think like cameronjenkins until a close call changed my mind.

A waiver doesn't magically make a fire hazard safe to work on. Your professional judgment is the most important tool you have, and you used it right. Walking away was the only call.
