My brother told me to leave 15 minutes earlier for my new route.
He said the traffic on the 405 through Irvine gets bad fast after 7:15. I ignored him for a week, was late twice. Tried his tip last Monday, got to work with 10 minutes to spare. Should have listened sooner. Anyone else have a simple time hack that actually worked?

Wait, you were only leaving 15 minutes earlier? That's the whole trick? I was picturing some crazy two hour buffer. My friend does the same drive and swears by leaving before 7, says it's a totally different world. It's wild how a tiny shift can save you from sitting there watching your clock tick down. I guess traffic really is that sensitive.

My buddy used to hit crazy traffic on his way to the airport every time. He'd always cut it close and miss his bag drop. One day he just left half an hour earlier on a whim. He said he ended up sitting at the gate for like forty minutes drinking coffee, totally stress free. Now he builds in that extra time every single trip. It seems so obvious but you never do it until you try it once.

Oh man, that 405 tip is a lifesaver. Traffic really does just flip a switch sometimes, doesn't it? My old commute was like that, where being five minutes later meant sitting for an extra twenty. It's so frustrating when the simple fix is right there, but you have to learn the hard way. Glad you figured it out, even if it took a week of being late.
