Chat with a bus driver in Phoenix made me rethink rush hour
Had a 15 minute wait at a light near Camelback. Driver said he's been doing this route 12 years. Told me people are way more aggressive since 2020. Guess I never thought about how bad it is for them dealing with angry drivers all day. Anyone else ever chat up their bus driver?

Haven't you ever had a job where one bad day just bleeds into the next? I was stuck behind a bus once for twenty minutes and the guy got out to stretch his legs like he had all the time in the world. Made me realize they see the worst of us from a different angle.

Oh come on... is it really that deep? I mean yeah nobody likes sitting in traffic but bus drivers signed up for this job knowing they'd deal with traffic and people. It's not like 2020 turned everyone into monsters overnight. People have always been annoyed sitting in their cars, bus drivers just get a front row seat to it. I've talked to a few drivers here in Mesa and they just seem bored more than anything else. Honestly feels like people love to dramatize how "awful" things have gotten when really it's just the same old rush hour nonsense with a little extra honking.
