Appreciation post: I thought those 'bus tracker' apps were pointless until my line got rerouted

For years, I figured checking the bus schedule was enough and the apps were just a battery drain. Then, about three weeks ago, my usual route in Seattle had a sudden detour for road work. The paper schedule at the stop was useless. I finally downloaded the Transit app in a panic. It showed my bus's real location on a map and gave me a new walking route to the temporary stop, saving me a 20 minute wait in the rain. I've used it every day since and haven't missed a connection. Has anyone else found a specific app that saved them during a service change?
