Question about a trick for clearing silt on a bridge inspection job
Ngl, we were losing visibility fast on the Ohio River last month, so I tried using my gloved hand to fan the water instead of the usual tool. Honestly, it gave us a clearer view for about 15 minutes longer, has anyone else tried something like that?

So we're just out here doing the Macarena to see underwater now? lmao

I mean, I read a forum post once where a guy swore by using a big plastic lid as a hand fan for exactly that. It seems like anything that moves a bigger column of water can buy you some time. Makes sense you got an extra 15 minutes out of it.

Totally believe it works. Moving more water has to help with heat transfer. That plastic lid trick is smart.
