My buddy's used Kirby Morgan mask fogged up at 60 feet in Port Fourchon and we almost called the dive
I picked up a used Kirby Morgan mask off a guy in Port Fourchon for $900 because mine was in the shop, and on the first dive the lens fogged so bad at 60 feet I was basically diving blind. Turns out the exhaust valve was letting a tiny bit of water in and the defog I use doesn't play nice with that, so we surfaced and I swapped back to my old mask for the rest of the job. Anyone got a trick for testing a used mask before you trust it on a real dive?
Man that Port Fourchon water will humble you quick, $900 mask or not. I've had good luck dunking a used mask in a bucket and watching the exhaust valve for bubbles before I ever take it deep.
