That time I looked up a creator's old letter column replies and it changed how I read the run

I was digging through some 1970s issues online and saw the writer answering a fan's question about a plot hole I'd always assumed was laziness. He explained the editor cut two pages for ad space, and suddenly the whole story made sense. Anyone else ever have a behind-the-scenes detail like that reshape a comic you thought you knew?

Read the letter columns first next time, trust me they fix everything.

Buddy found out his fave villain was rewritten because a letter column called the original too dark. Mind blown.
