Spilled my soda on a rare comic and the owner's reaction was EPIC.

I was at this small comic shop browsing the back issues. My hand slipped and a full cup of cola went ALL over a vintage X-Men book. The owner just stared for a second, then laughed and said it now has 'battle damage.' He even gave me a discount on my next purchase. That kind of chill attitude is why I love this hobby SO much.

Back in 2015, I ruined a Spawn #1 with coffee. Blot spills right away with paper towels, but don't press too hard. For soda, a slightly damp cloth can help with the sugar before it dries. Owners that chill are rare because water damage kills value fast. Keep your drinks on a separate table from now on, trust me.
