Spent 3 hours tracking down a single variant cover at my LCS

I needed the Peach Momoko variant for Ultimate Black Panther #1 and called five shops before finding one that still had it. The guy behind the counter checked three boxes in the back before he found it wedged between some old stock. Has anyone else had to hunt down a specific cover like that?

Whoa, three boxes? That's some dedication right there. I would have given up after the second shop and just settled for the regular cover. Peach Momoko stuff is always a nightmare to find in the wild, though. I once drove 45 minutes for a Momoko cover and the guy told me they sold out an hour before I got there. So yeah, I get the struggle.

Three boxes is wild but honestly I get it because once you start hunting you just can't stop until you find it. The regular cover would haunt me knowing I gave up so close to the finish line. Your 45 minute drive story is brutal though, I felt that pain just reading it. Peach Momoko covers are like gold dust lately, I swear the scalpers buy them up before regular collectors even get a chance. Part of me thinks the thrill of the hunt is what keeps us going even when it drives us crazy.

Man, that's rough. I had a buddy drive two hours to the other side of the city once for a Momoko cover and got there right as the store was closing. He didn't even get to look, the owner just said "sorry, we're closed" through the glass.
