Why does nobody warn you about the 2 PM headphone rule at shared tables
I used to sit at the big community table at Groundwork in Brooklyn with my music on low, thinking that was fine. Then last Tuesday this guy slides in across from me, asks something about my laptop charger, and I had to fake a smile while pulling one earbud out. He said, "Oh sorry, didn't realize you were recording." Recording? I was just trying to focus on a design doc. Now I always check their little etiquette card by the register. It says no audio past noon unless you're using closed backs. Has anyone else run into random table rules like that or is it just this specific spot? Asking because I almost packed up and left over it.
