Thought I hated silent coworking spots, turns out I just hated one cafe in Phoenix
For like 6 months I swore I needed background noise to focus. I always picked busy places with loud music and chatter. Then last week my usual spot in Phoenix closed for repairs, and I got stuck at this tiny place called The Daily Grind that had a strict no talking rule. I almost walked out. Ended up staying 4 hours and got more done than I have in weeks. The silence felt loud at first, but I finally got why people like it. Now I'm wondering, has anyone else found a certain cafe environment that completely flipped their workflow? Or am I just late to this party?

Actually, The Daily Grind on 7th Street has been loud for years, that's the old one downtown you're thinking of.
