Just realized the 'quiet corner' at my usual spot is a total myth on Tuesdays

I've been going to this place on Main Street in Portland for about 8 months now, always grabbing the same corner table by the window because it's got that sweet spot for both outlets and natural light. Told myself it was my secret gem, you know? Then last Tuesday I showed up at 9am like always, and suddenly there's a whole meetup group of like 12 people with laptops and headphones, all trying to squeeze around that same corner. Someone actually pulled up a chair right next to my table, no warning, and started a video call. I ended up packing up after 20 minutes and worked from my car instead. Lesson learned: that corner isn't quiet, it's just usually empty because nobody else wants to be near the door that slams every time someone walks in. Has anyone else had a favorite spot that just stopped being the thing you thought it was, or am I the only one who builds a whole routine around a chair?
