I finally switched from a blade grinder to a hand mill

I picked the Timemore C2 over a cheap electric one, and the difference in my morning cup is honestly wild. Anyone have a good method for dialing in the grind size for a V60 without wasting a ton of beans?

Oh man, my buddy did the same thing last month. He was so mad at himself for wasting good beans at first. He found a video where the guy said to start at 18 clicks for a V60, then just adjust one click coarser or finer based on if it's bitter or sour. He used the same cheap grocery store beans for his tests so it didn't feel as bad.

That's smart using cheap beans to dial it in. Makes the whole process way less stressful.

Totally get that frustration. I ruined a whole bag of fancy Ethiopian beans trying to dial in a new grinder last year. Now I keep a bag of cheap dark roast just for testing grind size when I change methods. Makes you feel way less guilty about dumping a bad cup down the drain. What kind of grinder is your buddy using?
