Watched a barista fix a register with 2 lines of code at the coffee shop on 5th, and now I want to learn to code
Last Tuesday at the coffee shop on 5th street, the girl at the counter typed on a black screen for maybe 30 seconds and the register worked again. I asked her what she did and she said she just deleted a space that was in the wrong spot. That tiny fix saved the line of 12 people behind me from waiting any longer. I have zero coding background, I work retail, and I always thought code was this huge scary thing you need a degree for. Turns out small mistakes in plain text can break a whole system, and small fixes can bring it back. Where do I even start if I want to be the person who can fix stuff like that at my own job?
