I just read that a single cargo ship can emit as much pollution as 50 million cars in a year

Found that in a report from the International Council on Clean Transportation... makes you wonder if we're focusing on the right things. Anyone have thoughts on how to actually tackle that scale of emissions?

Tackle that scale" needs way more public pressure on shipping companies.

Remember that Ever Forward ship stuck in the Chesapeake, @elliot_barnes? Public pressure did finally get it moving, but man, it took weeks.

Used to think electric cars were the whole answer. Seeing numbers like that makes you question everything, doesn't it? Public pressure is a start, but how do you even begin to regulate an industry that operates globally like that? Feels like we need some serious international rules that actually have teeth.
