Spent $400 on a HEPA backpack vac and I'm not sold on it
Tbh I gave in to the hype last spring and bought one of those fancy HEPA backpack vacuums for my sweep jobs. The $400 price stung but I figured the extra suction would mean fewer returns for dust complaints. After 60 plus flues, I've gone back to my old 2 stage shop vac with a longer hose. The backpack unit is lighter but the shoulder straps dig in after hour three and the filter clogs way faster than I expected. Also the hose is shorter so I'm bending more anyway, which defeats the whole point. Anyone else dump the backpack and stick with a basic setup? Or am I missing some technique that makes these things work better?
