Noticed a shift in how people use the lounge area at my local library

Three years ago, the chatter lounge there was mostly quiet, with folks reading or working alone. Last month, I saw a group of five students using it for a study session, talking through problems together. Just last week, I walked by and it was full of people from a community knitting club, all chatting and sharing patterns. The space went from a quiet spot to a real social hub. Has your local library or community center seen a similar change in how shared spaces are used?

Right, "shushed right out of there" is how it should be. My library put up signs last year saying the main room is for quiet work only. It was getting way too loud.

Actually seems like a downgrade. Libraries are for quiet, not social clubs. Our local spot cracked down on group noise, which is how it should be. That knitting crew would get shushed right out of there.

But @mila_harris, what if the library's job is to help the community, not just store books? Shouldn't that include space for people to connect?
