Question about that guy I met at the bus stop last Tuesday

So I was waiting for the 87 bus on Grand Avenue and this older guy starts talking to me about how he used to run a bookshop downtown. We ended up chatting for like 20 minutes until the bus came. He gave me his card and said I should call him if I ever want to browse his old collection. Has anyone else had a random conversation turn into something good, like a job or a friend? I'm still trying to decide if I should actually reach out or if that's weird.

Has it ever happened to you that these little random chats turn out to be the real gold in life? I swear, half the stuff I've found cool came from just talking to strangers at weird times. Reminds me of what @lopez.jana said about that wooden duck - sometimes the random stuff people give you ends up meaning something. Like my buddy met a guy at a laundromat who showed him how to fix his own bike chain, saved him like 50 bucks. So yeah, hit that bookshop guy up. Worst that happens is you waste an hour looking at old books, best case you get a new friend or a cool story.

Wait a second, did you say a wooden duck? That's wild, I can't believe that's a thing that actually happened. Like you just meet someone at a bookshop and they hand over a random wooden duck, and now it's a whole story. That's the kind of weird magic I'm talking about, man.
