My radiator blew up on I-80 and a tow truck driver changed my route
Last Tuesday my old sedan overheated near mile marker 214 outside of Des Moines. The tow truck driver, a guy named Ray, told me about a smaller repair shop in Newton that fixed it for $380 instead of the $1,200 the chain place quoted. We got to talking and he mentioned he used to drive this exact stretch for 15 years, so now I always call him before any long trip. Has anyone else had a random roadside worker point you toward something better than you would have found on your own?
