Just realized my miter saw blade has made 40,000 cuts on the same decking job, which feels crazy high.
One crew says you should swap a blade after 25k cuts to keep the edge, but my foreman says run it until it burns or chips, so what's your hard number?

Your foreman is a cheap skate.

Cheap is just part of the job sometimes... it's not always a personal thing. They probably have a tight budget to stick to. Calling names won't fix the numbers.

Used to think swapping blades early was just throwing money away. Then I saw a blade that was run too long take a chunk out of some expensive trim, and we had to redo a whole section. The time and material wasted cost way more than a new blade. Now I check the cuts and swap it before the quality goes downhill.
