Vent: My new boss told me to 'just be more charismatic' during my review

This was after I gave a presentation in our tiny conference room last week and he said I looked 'like a robot reading a grocery list'. How do you even practice that?

That feedback is so vague it's almost useless. I mean, how are you supposed to act on "be more charismatic"? Maybe you could ask him for one specific thing to change for next time, like making eye contact with at least two people or trying to sound less flat. Idk, it forces him to give real advice instead of just a vibe check.

Sometimes vague feedback is the most honest kind though. @maxt95, what if the person giving it just can't put their finger on the exact problem yet?
