The day I wore a suit to a video call and got promoted by accident

I had a big presentation last Tuesday so I put on my one nice blazer, just the top half, thinking it would help me feel serious. My camera was on and I forgot to mute when I sneezed, then my cat jumped on the keyboard and opened a spreadsheet I'd been avoiding. My manager saw the mess and laughed, then said 'you actually look like you have it together for once' and gave me the lead on a new project. I learned that looking put together for five minutes can override months of chaos, but I still can't figure out if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Has anyone else got a weird win from a total wardrobe accident?

Gotta call this one out because it's way too clean. A sneeze, a cat, a spreadsheet you were avoiding, and a manager who just happens to crack a joke about your outfit then promotes you? That's not a wardrobe win, that's a sitcom script. Look, I get the whole "fake it till you make it" thing, but you got lucky once and now you're reading deep meaning into it. The real lesson here is probably that your manager was already thinking about giving you the project and just needed a damn excuse to bring it up. Don't let a blazer fool you into thinking presentation skills matter more than the actual work, because next week when you show up in a hoodie and your cat deletes a folder, that same joke won't land.
