Hot take: paying a recruiter $500 to rewrite my resume was the best money I spent in years
I was stuck sending out 60 or so applications with barely any callbacks, so back in February I paid a guy $500 to rebuild my resume and LinkedIn from scratch. He cut my job duties down to three bullet points per job and added numbers I had never thought to include, like how many accounts I handled per week at my last job. Two weeks after I started using the new version I had four interviews lined up, and I landed a job at a firm in Tampa by early March. Has anyone else paid for resume help and felt like it was worth it, or did you get the same result just doing it yourself?
Ha, so what you're saying is $500 bought you four interviews AND a job? That resume guy is out here running a better business than most life coaches. Meanwhile I'm over here rewriting my own bullets for free and getting ghosted by robots. Honestly, three bullet points per job and some real numbers sounds like a pretty good trade for five hundred bucks if it actually moves the needle.
