Honestly, taking a demotion was the best choice for me

I was so stressed as a team lead that I asked for a regular analyst spot. Now I have less pressure and more time for side projects I love. Is it crazy to think not every promotion is worth it?

Totally get that. My friend Carla was a department manager but switched to a regular staff role last year. She told me the endless meetings and budget fights were killing her joy. Now she focuses on her actual work, has energy for her pottery classes, and seems like a new person.

Hold up, Carla actually has time for pottery after work? Manager jobs suck the life out of you with all those extra hours. Switching back must have been a huge relief for her.
