Debate: Did the 3-month job search actually take that long or did I waste time?
I started looking for a new marketing role in January and thought I'd land something in 6 weeks max. Instead it took me 13 weeks and 47 applications to get an offer. Halfway through I stopped customizing my resume and just fired off the same one, but then I started getting more callbacks after I went back to tailoring. Was it faster to blast out generic apps or did I waste 6 weeks doing it wrong? Has anyone else seen a big jump when they focused on quality over quantity?

Honestly 47 applications in 13 weeks is wild, that's like 3-4 a week and you still couldn't get a bite without tailoring? Ngl that makes me feel like I've been wasting time just blasting out generic resumes for the past month. Might have to go back to customizing every single one now.

Tbh I literally just went through the exact same thing last year, 60 apps in 4 months with zero callbacks until I started rewriting my resume for each job. Ngl it's a grind but it's the only thing that actually worked for me too.
