Took 6 months to get a simple lemonade stand permit in Sacramento
I tried to set up a lemonade stand for my daughter's summer project back in May and the city told me I needed a temporary food permit, a zoning waiver, and proof of a business license for a kid's stand. After three visits to city hall and five follow up emails, I finally got the approval in November. Has anyone else dealt with this level of red tape for something this basic?

And here I thought I was being a responsible parent by teaching my kid about business, turns out I was just signing up for a government internship. I spent more time filling out forms for a lemonade stand than I did applying for my actual job. At this rate, my daughter's lemonade will be sold at her high school graduation.
